Scope Note: Activities associated with the coordinating of an ECU function, ceremony or celebration held to honour a particular person or event, held either on or off campus, including events that are coordinated by a third party of behalf of the University. Use this activity for the planning associated with events such as official openings, public lectures, unveiling's, farewells, staff functions or other ceremonial events such as fund raising, installation ceremonies, signing ceremonies etc. Also includes the planning of equity events such as Pride week, International Women's Day events and NAIDOC week, held by the University. Use for records such as budgeting, venue bookings, invitations, parking permits, catering and beverage arrangements, organising of equipment and audiovisual, staff coordination, organising entertainment and / or speakers, signage, emergency contact details etc. See FUNCTIONS (social) for records associated with staff attendance to official or social occasions as an official representative of ECU or as a representative of professional associations where the function is not coordinated by the University. See STUDENT SERVICES - INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SUPPORT for the planning of events that are specifically tailored to supporting international students transition to studying at ECU (eg Welcome briefings, tours organised as part of the Buddy Program etc) Tip: Use STUDENT SERVICES - EVENT PLANNING for those events that are specifically aimed at existing students of the University (eg Exchange fairs). Use COMMUNITY RELATIONS - EVENT PLANNING for events aimed at the wider community that market the services of ECU. |
