PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Scope Note:
Activities associated with the discipline of planning, organising and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of a project utilizing a combination of techniques, procedures, people and systems. Includes the organising and management of resources (people, finance etc) in such a way that the project is completed within a defined scope, quality, time and cost constraint. Use this activity for documentation created as a result of defining, planning, approval, implementation and evaluation a project. Includes records such as progress reports & project meetings and project execution plans.

Use this activity for the management of major and minor works projects approved through the Strategic Asset Management Framework (SAMF). Project Management files for major and minor works projects will include records pertaining to project meetings, project construction, asset disposal and demolition, building fit-outs, and office relocations.

See CONTRACTING-OUT for the ongoing management of a contractor or consultant where there is a written contract.
Note: When a contractor or consultant is engaged specifically for the implementation of a project, records pertaining to the
management of the contractor or consultant are placed on the Project Management file.

See PLANNING for the initial assessment and approval of a program which precedes the project management
phase.
