STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

Scope Note:
The function of applying broad systematic planning and management for the organisation.

Includes the activities associated with planning, developing, directing, administering, controlling and monitoring the long term strategy and direction of the University, including activities undertaken by the University Council, committees of Council, the Vice-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor's committees.

Also includes the activities associated with the development, monitoring, and reviewing of business plans, strategic plans, work plans corporate plans, Equal Opportunity plans, Ethnic Affairs Policy Statements and agreements, environmental management plans and other long term organisational strategies.

Also includes the development of the corporate mission, objectives, continuous improvement processes, quality assurance, audit and certification, and the formulation and amendment of legislation which provides the legislative basis for the organisation.
