The inquiry or investigation into a specific subject to discover and/or apply knowledge facts or principles. This includes
- the development, submission and approval of research projects
- the management of research projects and reporting on activities associated with progress and completion.
- collaborative and contract research.
- records relating to the formulation or development of research projects.
- correspondence, working papers, preliminary data and agreements.
- records relating to funding proposals for research.
- successful or unsuccessful proposals for competitive internal or external or non competitive funding including application forms or tenders, supporting information, referees, protocols and reports.
- records relating to the individual administration of research projects including individual funding agreements
- records relating to reporting on individual projects as required by granting bodies conditions, legislation or protocol, or communication to the wider research community.
- projects/interim inspection reports, final reports, audit reports and presentations
- records relating to the master register of research projects
- records relating to general research records.
